Occupational Health and Safety Coordinator in the GTA:


Main duties include:

  • Actively promote health and safety mandates in accordance with respective acts and regulations
  • Provide leadership and monitoring of existing health and safety programs
  • Investigate spills of any hazardous materials which may pose a risk to human health and collect samples for analysis
  • Inspect workplaces to ensure that equipment, materials and processes do not present a safety or health hazard to employees or to the general public
  • Investigate workplace accidents or illnesses
  • Provide WHIMIS training and ongoing compliance
  • Implement health and safety programs and protocols
  • Co-chair the Joint Occupational Health and Safety committee
  • Provide appropriate training/information to staff

The ideal candidate will include:

  • Related post secondary education as an Occupational Health & Safety Specialist or Occupational Health Nurse
  • 3-5 years experience working within an employer setting
  • Health care and hospital experience is preferred
  • Certification preferred

Occupational Health Nurse:


ACCLAIM is a national disability management company. We are hiring an Occupational Health Nurse in Toronto.

Main duties include:

  • Actively promote health and safety within an employer setting.
  • Provide primary care, initial response to accidents and complete WSIB forms; provide reports, record and document occupational and non-occupational injury and illness.
  • Administer the Modified Work Program and Organization Safety Program.
  • Assist with pre-placement medical assessments, testing and medical surveillance monitoring including first-aid and CPR.
  • Manage health care/occupational health and safety program which includes one staff nurse.
  • Provide employee counseling on health-related matters and make appropriate referrals as necessary.

The ideal candidate will include:

  • RN with Occupational Nurse Certificate
  • 3-5 years experience working within an employer setting
  • A university degree in nursing is preferred

Main duties include:

  • Assess community living skills, activities of daily living and functional performance
  • Conduct Occupational Therapy, Attendant Care (Form 1) Assessments, Home Safety Assessments, Activities of Daily Living (ADL) Assessments, Job-Site Analyses, Work Hardening Programs, Exercise Programs, Job Coaching and Ergonomic Assessments, including the identification of pro-active strategies to restore independence in a timely fashion

Specific Skills:

  • University degree in a related discipline (e.g. Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Kinesiology)
  • 2 - 3 years experience in the disability management / rehabilitation field
  • Previous experience conducting vocational evaluations an asset
  • Eligibility for Registered Rehabilitation Professional (RRP) / CCRC or Certified Vocational Evaluator (CVE) designations an asset
  • English and French bilingualism an asset
  • Valid driver's license required
